Figgins Rites Held: Out-of-Town Friends Atend Funeral Saturday. NELSONVILLE, May 17. - Funeral Services for Charles Figgins, 48, who died Wednesday night at his home, West Washington Street, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Fort Street Church of Christ. The pastor, the Reverend John J. Scott conducted the services. He read the hymns: "Lead Kindly Light," and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." Burial was made at Greenlawn. Funeral Is Saturday: NELSONVILLE, May 13. - Funeral services for Charles Figgins, 48, who died of a heart attack, Wednesday evening at his home, West Washington Street, will be held at the Christian Church, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. John H. Scott will officiate and burial will be made at Greenlawn. Beside his wife and children, Paul, Alonzo, Betty, Jane and John. Mr. Figgins also leaves two sister: Mrs. Mildred Pendegrass, Chauncey, and Mrs. Gail Johnson, McKinney, Texas; and five brothers; joe, Ed, Willis, Donald and Rolland, all of Columbus.

Former Chauncey Man Dies of Heart Attack. Services Held in Nelsonville, Burial at Greenlawn,. CHAUNCEY, May 11.- Charles Figgins, who was formerly employed in the meat market of hte local company store and was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. A.P. Figgins, Chauncey, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Nelsonville Wednesday night. Funeral services were held from the Nelsonville Church of Christ Saturday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. John J. Schoot and burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Figgins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Figgins and five children. He also leaves two sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Mildred Pendergrass, Chauncey; Mrs. Gail Johnson, McKinney, Texas; and Joe, Willis, Edward, Donald and Rollie Figgins, all of Columbus. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pendergrass and family, Chauncey, were in Nelsonville, Saturday to attend the funeral.

Roland C. FIGGINS Obituary

"FIGGINS – INVERNESS - Mr. Roland C. Figgins, age 68, of 203 Trout Street, Inverness, passed away Tuesday, October 17. Mr. Figgins was born in Nelsonville, Ohio. Came here about 19 years ago from Columbus, Ohio and served two terms as Mayor of Inverness from 1959 to 1963 and was elected a four year term on the city council, February 1967, and was employed as a salesman at the Home Furniture Store in Inverness. He was of the Methodist Faith. Surviving are his wife, Edith Jane Figgins, Inverness; a brother, Edward W. Figgins, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Dengrass of Chauncey, Ohio, and Mrs. Gail Johnson of Athens, Ohio. Funeral services for Mr. Figgins will be held at 11:15, Wednesday, October 18, in the chapel of the Porter Funeral Home, Inverness, with Reverned Raymond Hayes officiating. Earl Barber: McArthur--Earl Barber, 78, of McArthur died Sunday in Mounth St. Mary Hospital. He was a native of Nelsonville, a son of the late Joseph and Charlotte Barber, and was a retired welder. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frances Morris of Wilmington, Calif.; a step-daughter Mrs. Diane Fontana of Buffalo; three sons, Max of McArthur, Hubert of Youngsville, Pa.; and Donald of Torrance, Calif.; a step-son, Henry Kimble, Lancaster; 18 grandchildren, three brothers, Joseph of Athens, Frank of Columbus, and Lawrence of Dayton; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Figgins, Lancater; Mrs. Ethel Colgrove, Columbus; and Mrs. Elsie Welch of Grove City. Services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., in the Wrightsel Funeral Home, and burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Doanville. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

NELSONVILLE--Mrs. Edith P. Figgins, 61, 831 Chestnut St., died Saturday morning at Mount St. Mary Hospital where she had been a patient the last six weeks. She had been in failing health the last two years.
Born at Carbondale, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Electa Arnold. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Te WSCS, and the Nelsonville Athletic Association. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Figgins; six sons, Darrel, Jr., and Max, both of Nelsonville; Robert, Freedona, Ariz., Jerry of Lancaster; Keith of Logan; and Mike, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Wilson, Sugar Grove; Mrs. Patty Monk, Nelsonville, a brother, Floyd Arnold, of Nelsonville Route 2; five sisters, Mrs. Lydia Stanley and Mrs. Garnet Lightfritz, both of Carbondale; Mrs. Nell Hoak, New Marshfield; Mrs. Rose Davis, Marietta; Mrs. Margaret Collins, Princeton, Ind.; and 17 ...(unreadable, but probably grandchildren).

NELSONVILLE--Services for Mrs. Edith Figgins, 61, of 831 Chestnut St., who died Saturday morning at Mount St. Mary Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Paul E. Ertel. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.

Alonzo B. FIGGINS Obituary

Alonzo B. Figgins, 90, of 414 Chestnut St. Nelsonville, died Tuesday night at Mount St. Mary Hospital where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. Born in Athens County, he was a son of the late King and Ella Figgins. He was a retired coal miner, and a mine foreman at the former Kimberly Mine at Kimberly. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lulu Hoskins, of the home; one brother, Darrell Figgins of Nelsonville, a member of Nelsonville City Council; one sister, Mrs. Lena Wolfe of Nelsonville; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary, died in May 1960. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Ballard officiating. Burial will be in the Connett Cemetery.
