Lulu FIGGINS and Charles H. DALTON Marriage License and Return

License Issued the 11th day of November 1892 to Charles H. Dalton and Lulu Figgins. Edwin D. Sayne, Probate Judge. Affidavit: "King Figgins, having made application for license for Charles H. Dalton and Lulu Figgins, and being duly sworn, says that Charles H. Dalton is of the age of twenty years, present father's written consent and has no wife living, and that Lulu Figgins is of the age of eighteen years, a resident of said County, and has no husband living, and that said parties are not nearer kin than second cousins. Signed King Figgins. Sworn to and subscribed before me, this 11th day of November AD 1892. Edwin D. Sayne, Probate Judge."

Return: "The State of Ohio, Athens County, ss. On the 11th day of November AD 1892, I solemnized the Marriage of Charles H. Dalton with Lulu Figins by W.A. Roush, M.G. Returned and filed 14th day of November 1892, Edwin D. Sayne, Probate Judge."

Charles H. DALTON Death Certificate


Charles H. Dalton, white married male, born 26 Feb 1873 in Vinton County, Ohio, died 15 Jan 1936 at 9 am at age 62 years 10 months 18 days in Nelsonville of syphilis (date of an act not known 1933), apolectic stroke July 1934, and hemoplegia Nov. 5 1935, secondary arteriosclerosis. Attended by L.E. Butts, D.O. M.D. from 1 Oct 1933 to 15 Jan 1936. Resided at Jackson St. in Nelsonville, occupation coalminer. Married at time of death to Lulu Dalton. Son of John Dalton and Almira Boal, both birthplaces unknown. Informant Mrs. William Patton of Nelsonville. Burial at Green Lawn Cemetery on 17 Jan 1936. Funeral Director C.L. Stout of Nelsonville. Filed 17 Jan 1936.

Lula Lucretia FIGGINS DALTON Death Certificate


Lucretia Dalton, born 26 Aug 1872, died 25 August 1938 at age 62 years, 11 months and 29 days, of apoplexy--contributory cause of arteriosclerosis. Lucretia was born in Nelsonville, Ohio to King Figgins(born in unknown city, Pennsylvania) and Ella Anders (born in unknown city, Ohio). Lucretia was a widow to Charles Dalton, and keeping house in her own home at the time of her death. Mrs. R.D. Graham of Athens, Ohio was the informant. Burial took place on 28 Aug 1938 in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Funeral home: C.L. Stout of Nelsonville, burial by C.G. Johnson. Certificate number 44190 filed 9 September 1938 by J.M. Higgins, registrar in district 62. Certificate indicates that she is a non-resident of Athens, actual residence listed as Nelsonville. Dr. John T. Sorague of Athens, Ohio was the attending physician from 12 June to 25 August 1938. Time of death: 11:45pm.
