Alonzo B. FIGGINS Obituary




Alonzo B. Figgins, 90, of 414 Chestnut St. Nelsonville, died Tuesday night at Mount St. Mary Hospital where he had been a patient for the past six weeks. Born in Athens County, he was a son of the late King and Ella Figgins. He was a retired coal miner, and a mine foreman at the former Kimberly Mine at Kimberly. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lulu Hoskins, of the home; one brother, Darrell Figgins of Nelsonville, a member of Nelsonville City Council; one sister, Mrs. Lena Wolfe of Nelsonville; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary, died in May 1960. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Ballard officiating. Burial will be in the Connett Cemetery.
