Charles FIGGINS Obituary and Funeral Notice

Figgins Rites Held: Out-of-Town Friends Atend Funeral Saturday. NELSONVILLE, May 17. - Funeral Services for Charles Figgins, 48, who died Wednesday night at his home, West Washington Street, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Fort Street Church of Christ. The pastor, the Reverend John J. Scott conducted the services. He read the hymns: "Lead Kindly Light," and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." Burial was made at Greenlawn. Attending the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. And Mrx. Ed Figgins and children, June, Elizabeth and Max, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Figgins, son Jack and daughter, Mary Martha, Mr. And Mrs. Joe Figgins, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Figgins, Donald  Figgins, Richard Buterworth and Mr. Condon, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pendergrass and daughter, Juanita, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clary, Chauncey; Charles Figgins and John Roscoe, Lancaster; John Adams, Cleveland; Mrs. Mildred Campbell, Haydenville. Mr. and Mrs. John Clary and Mrs. Stephen Barber, Carbon Hill: Mr. And Mrs. Frank Gee, Murray City; Mr. and Mrs. Otis Powers, Jacksonville; Mr. And Mrs. Joe Mathewson, Mrs. C.A. Hooper and Carl Campbell, Athens; Mr. And Mrs. Ed Humphrey, Circle Hill.

Funeral Is Saturday: NELSONVILLE, May 13. - Funeral services for Charles Figgins, 48, who died of a heart attack, Wednesday evening at his home, West Washington Street, will be held at the Christian Church, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. John H. Scott will officiate and burial will be made at Greenlawn. Beside his wife and children, Paul, Alonzo, Betty, Jane and John. Mr. Figgins also leaves two sister: Mrs. Mildred Pendegrass, Chauncey, and Mrs. Gail Johnson, McKinney, Texas; and five brothers; joe, Ed, Willis, Donald and Rolland, all of Columbus.

Former Chauncey Man Dies of Heart Attack. Services Held in Nelsonville, Burial at Greenlawn,. CHAUNCEY, May 11.- Charles Figgins, who was formerly employed in the meat market of hte local company store and was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. A.P. Figgins, Chauncey, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Nelsonville Wednesday night. Funeral services were held from the Nelsonville Church of Christ Saturday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. John J. Schoot and burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Figgins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Figgins and five children. He also leaves two sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Mildred Pendergrass, Chauncey; Mrs. Gail Johnson, McKinney, Texas; and Joe, Willis, Edward, Donald and Rollie Figgins, all of Columbus. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pendergrass and family, Chauncey, were in Nelsonville, Saturday to attend the funeral.

Figgins and Mary Grounds in Nelsonville, Ohio. Usual occupation Yard Master in Railroad. Was never in US Armed Forces. Social Security No. 717-01-5779. Informant Florena M. Figgins.

Died age 47 years 10 months 6 days at 8:30 pm on 11 May 1932 of  organic heart disease (2 years ago) with a contributory cause of acute alcoholism (2 or 3 days). Attended by C.C. Butt, MD of Nelsonville, who saw him last alive on 11 May. No autopsy performed. Undertaker CL Stout of Nelsonville. Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery on 14 May 1932. Informant was Maud Figgins of Nelsonville.

Amelia Maude CLARY FIGGINS Death Certificate

Amelia Maud Figgins died at age 57 years 8 months 3 days at 10:00 am on 14 October 1942 of Alzheimer's Disease. Attended by J.L. Neff, M.D. from 9/25/1942 to time of decease. Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery 17 October by C.L. Stout. Female, white, widow, spouse Charles Figgins, housekeeper. Born 11 Feb 1885 in Athens County, Ohio to Nicholas Clary of Cambridge Ohio and Katarine Jones of Hocking County, Ohio. Informant Jane Keating of Nelsonville Ohio. Certficate 57615.
